We are seeking an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our logistics department in Atlanta, Georgia. This role is responsible for managing the outbound shipping process, ensuring that all orders are accurately documented, packed, and dispatched on time. You will be the primary point of contact for coordinating with carriers and maintaining shipping records. Attention to detail is paramount, as is a commitment to workplace safety. Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Verify order accuracy before packing and shipping.
- Ensure packages are correctly labeled and meet carrier requirements.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the WMS accordingly.
- Operate shipping equipment such as pallet wrappers and label printers.
- Communicate with internal departments to resolve shipping issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines, including the proper use of required PPE.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, contributing to overall logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and WMS.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- A proactive and problem-solving mindset.
