We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator for our busy facility in Huntsville, Alabama. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within the warehouse. This role is crucial for maintaining the smooth flow of our logistics operations, ensuring that products are transported, stored, and retrieved accurately and safely. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe forklift operation, a strong understanding of warehouse procedures, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Your attention to detail and adherence to safety regulations are paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (counterbalance, reach trucks, etc.) to move, stack, load, and unload materials.
- Safely transport raw materials, finished goods, and equipment throughout the warehouse.
- Conduct pre-operation checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Follow all safety guidelines and regulations for forklift operation, including maintaining proper clearance and speed.
- Assist with inventory management, including put-away, retrieval, and stock checks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring aisles are clear and materials are properly stored.
- Adhere to all PPE requirements, including wearing a safety vest, hard hat, and steel-toed boots.
- Be prepared for lifting tasks when not operating a forklift, following safe lifting practices.
- Support overall logistics and material handling functions within the facility.
- Report any operational issues, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions immediately to supervision.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics principles.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and maneuvering materials when necessary.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required.
