Position Summary:

Building Maintenance is responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and to support the overall upkeep, safety, and functionality of our facility. This position is essential in ensuring a well-maintained, welcoming, and secure environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks including painting, light plumbing, electrical repairs, carpentry, and HVAC system checks.
  • Conduct regular inspections of building systems (interior and exterior) to ensure functionality and safety.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from staff or residents.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of furniture or equipment for facility events or resident needs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on facility equipment and systems according to schedules.
  • Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance work completed.
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations, building codes, and facility standards.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors as necessary for specialized repairs or installations.
  • Assist with emergency response efforts during power outages, inclement weather, or urgent repair needs.
  • Support the housekeeping or groundskeeping teams as needed to maintain a clean and orderly facility.
  • Provide occasional transportation for residents to medical appointments using company vehicles.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and perform repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, especially with elderly residents.
  • Reliable, responsible, and committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in general maintenance, or facilities experience; experience in a healthcare or senior living environment is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems and groundskeeping practices.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license required; ability to obtain a chauffeur's license.
  • Must pass background check.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders as needed.
  • Ability to climb and work from ladders up to 15 feet in height.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely.
  • Frequently required to climb ladders or stairs.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Pay:

$ $20.00 per hour
