Maintenance Technician

As a hotel maintenance technician everyday is different and exciting. As our maintenance technician you are responsible for repairing and maintaining the hotel's physical plant by ensuring quality, cleanliness, guest satisfaction, safety and security. A major part of your job is to be pro active in identifying potential issues and alerting the General Manager so that a proper action plan can be put in place. You should be able to maintain all aspects of the common areas and guest room's areas to minimize the use of outside labor to maintain the hotel. Someone with overall understanding and experience working with plumbing, electric, and HVAC is a plus. Prior experience in a hotel, apartment, or hospital setting a plus.

Major Duties

Perform routine preventive maintenance throughout the property, to include painting, carpet/floor cleaning, inspections, etc.

Respond to open work orders in a timely manner.

Perform adjustments on HVAC systems, including the repair and/or replacement of PTAC units. Replacing filters on a routine basis. Cleaning HVAC units when necessary.

Perform repairs and/or replacements of room furniture, fixtures, and equipment to include television sets, light fixtures, carpet cleaning, etc.

Clean and maintain the hotel's exterior areas, to include the swimming pool, parking lot, grass, flowers, trees.

Maintenance of pool during seasonal operation to include checking and balancing chemicals, maintaining proper logs, vacuuming, filter maintenance, and overall pool safety checks. Obtaining a pool operator certificate from Fayette County will be necessary.

Protect Company assets by properly securing tools, equipment, and supplies.

Research to find the most cost effective solution to maintenance issues.

Perform work duties in accordance with company safety and security policies and procedures, as well as in accordance to hotel brand standards.

JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employees in this position may work indoors or outdoors. To perform the job successfully, the candidate must be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping, assemble very small objects, make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls, and determine the distance between objects. The employee must be able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time, as well as lift objects sometimes weighing 50 pounds or more. Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required, as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business requirements.
