EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- A Master's Degree in Social Work or other human services discipline is required with 3 to 5 years child welfare experience or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or other human service discipline with 7 to 10 years child welfare experience
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Three years of experience in working directly with children in a child related field
- Most recent Performance Evaluation must be satisfactory
- Must possess a proficient knowledge of DPW regulations
- Candidate must complete a quiz that will test their knowledge of the organizational history,
- mission and operating principles
- Candidate must demonstrate through their actions a team player philosophy
SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS
- Must have at least one year of direct supervisory experience with children and families in either job related or volunteer experience

- Fulltime, Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to work cooperatively with Allegheny County Dept. of Human Services
- Must demonstrate leadership skills and qualities
- Must possess the knowledge if the child welfare and foster care system; must be passionate about the strengths of kinship; have the ability to work cooperatively with the Director of Child and Family Service
- Must have the ability to work with persons from various ethnic backgrounds, with particular emphasis in working with families of African-American heritage
- Must participate in the on-call rotation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- To be directly responsible for the supervision of Kinship Navigator staff to ensure kinship focus during placement process of children through extensive family finding, screening of families and assessment
- To review all documentation related to the Kinship Navigator tasks to ensure compliance with requirements
- To interface with the triad and management staff regarding client specific issues for emergency, non-emergency and congregate care cases
- To interface with ACCYF staff and leadership to enhance the Kinship Navigator process and problem solve any concerns or barriers on a micro and macro level
- To interface with jurisdictions on expanding navigator work.
- To facilitate kinship navigator trainings with ASCI and CYF to support the program growth
- To prepare written reports and gather monthly statistical data to/for leadership team of Child and Family services on designated subjects relative to program outcomes
- To serve as the first line regarding on-call situations
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License
- Registered and insured vehicle
- Certificate of Insurance for vehicle
- Valid PA Inspection (even if vehicle is registered in another state)
- Valid/Clean Motor Vehicle Record
- Current Act 33, Police Clearance and FBI Clearance
- City/County travel
- Available to work flexible schedule (evenings and weekend hours as scheduled)
