Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics on engine, transmission, electrical, drivability, HVAC, and emissions systems
  • Accurately identify root causes of complex vehicle issues using scan tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Complete major repairs including engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, and braking systems
  • Diagnose and repair complex electrical and computer-controlled systems
  • Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs to ensure proper operation
  • Document diagnostics, repairs, and recommendations clearly and accurately
  • Communicate technical findings and repair needs to service advisors or management
  • Adhere to manufacturer specifications, shop procedures, and safety standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Mentor and assist B- and C-level technicians as needed
  • Stay current with evolving automotive technology and repair methods

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience (or equivalent skill level)
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting expertise across multiple vehicle makes and models
  • Proficient with diagnostic scan tools, electrical testing equipment, and repair software
  • Ability to independently perform complex repairs with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASE Master Technician certification (or multiple ASE certifications)
  • Experience with European, Asian, and domestic vehicles
  • Advanced electrical and drivability diagnostic experience
  • Leadership or mentoring experience in a shop environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions throughout the workday
  • Ability to work in a shop environment with noise, fumes, and standard automotive equipment
