As a Principal Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will be a subject-matter expert for delivering ingenious solutions on Google Cloud Platform. GCP experience is desirable but not essential if you are eager to learn; experience with AWS or Azure is essential. You may lead a development team or work across multiple teams providing centralized expertise for a larger program. Lead architectural discussions and set direction.
Own DevSecOps processes across a team or multiple teams, establishing robust methods and patterns. Serve as a primary client engagement point and communicate regularly with the client. Coach and mentor the team; help shape proposals with a bid team and articulate solutions, potentially presenting during formal selections. Play an active role in technical account management. Design GCP-enabled solutions for clients across industries. PA supports your development and GCP certifications. Expect a hands-on, immersive working week. All staff are client-facing and empowered to achieve the best outcomes for clients. Qualifications
Professional experience Knowledge of the following products and deep experience in one or more categories: Cloud Functions, Cloud Run Kubernetes Engine, Compute Engine VPCs, Service Perimeters Cloud Spanner, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Firestore API Endpoints, Apigee, API Gateway Vertex AI, Model Garden, ADK and Agent Engine Security Command Center, IAP, IAM Sound understanding of architectural principles: Microservices patterns Event-driven architectures and message queues Relational and non-relational databases Development and/or scripting experience (e.g., Python, Node, Bash) Security-focused, hardened architectures Additional beneficial experience: Knowledge of other cloud platforms Automation/DevOps experience using Google tools (Cloud Build) and open-source tools (Terraform) Personal qualities
We are looking for an experienced person to join our Google Alliance Team. This is a critical role that requires creative, cognitive, and emotional intelligence. We expect: Pragmatism and understanding that building a platform is only part of cloud engineering. Clear communication with clients and peers, explaining technical issues and solutions in writing and in meetings/workshops. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences at all levels. Ability to influence senior and specialist client stakeholders across organizational boundaries. Confident problem solver and troubleshooter. Willingness to share knowledge and enable others to grow. Commitment to continuous learning and uplifting others.
