Design (UX) is core to how we approach product development and plays a critical role in the continued growth and success of the company. We routinely apply the practices of research and design to discover customer needs, explore and test product ideas and deliver innovative solutions our customers love. Design (UX) is recognised as a key differentiator, enabling the business to solve complex technology problems for the world's data professionals by designing simple, intuitive and delightful products.
Mid-Weight Designers are embedded in cross-functional, agile development teams. They work closely with Product Managers, Technical Leads, and Software Engineers to drive a collaborative approach to problem-solving that focuses on delivering products and experiences that meet our customers’ needs. Redgate supports a flexible-hybrid model for work-life balance.
Responsibilities
Supporting the tactical needs of the team from prototyping to production and testing; crafting workflows, interfaces and interactions to deliver working solutions.
Facilitating collaborative design activities to routinely engage users and the wider team in exploring, shaping and refining solutions.
Using qualitative and quantitative research to inform and influence design decisions.
Working with the development team to ensure a design perspective is factored into delivery and taking ownership of design decisions.
Maintaining and contributing to a shared design system where possible.
Refining usability, usage and engagement of existing solutions through user testing, measurement and data analysis.
Championing a customer-centric approach and advocating for user engagement and empathy.
Supporting and contributing towards wider practice improvement and mentoring of junior team members.
What You Bring to the Table
Experience in complex SaaS B2B domains.
A strong portfolio demonstrating a user-centered design process.
Experience in cross-functional, agile teams with PMs, engineers and other designers.
Solid understanding of evaluative research methods (qualitative and quantitative).
Experience with UI design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma).
Who You Are
Proven ability to execute design projects and support production, delivery and refinement of software solutions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to articulate ideas clearly.

Benefits
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 negotiable depending on experience.
Approx. 40 hours per week with flexible working time.
Friday afternoons dedicated to growth and personal development.

Impact Plan
30 Days:
Build understanding of what a Product Designer does at Redgate; learn mission, vision and strategy; meet the team; understand roles and workflows; exposure to typical product work.
60 Days:
Continue product and solution knowledge; contribute to team projects; collaborate with PMs, engineers and designers; begin research activities.
90 Days:
Lead research and design of a project or feature; present work to the design group; contribute to cross-team alignment.
