About Everest Systems

Everest is ERP reinvented for the AI era. Founded in 2020, we're building the first enterprise-grade ERP designed for the modern enterprise—combining finance, operations, people, and cloud cost management in a single, AI-native platform. With $140M raised from Sutter Hill Ventures, Altimeter, Redpoint, and D1, we operate as a global team across Mountain View, Heidelberg, London and Porto Alegre.

Our product replaces the fragile "GL + add-ons" stack with a unified system that automates billing, revenue recognition, multi-entity accounting, spend, and more. With innovations like Everest's Live Sandbox and AI-powered agents, we make it safe and fast for companies to change pricing, launch new products, expand internationally, and operate with real-time visibility.

We're a builder-led company with deep roots in enterprise software—and we're on a mission to redefine the operational core for the next generation of companies.

About the Role

As a Product Manager for Usage at Everest, you'll define how modern SaaS and AI companies meter consumption, apply flexible pricing rules, and accurately invoice customers for what they use. You'll translate complex requirements around event ingestion, aggregation engines, and consumption pricing into product features that power the next generation of usage-based business models—from AI inference pricing to API consumption to cloud resource metering. This role sits at the intersection of technical infrastructure and business innovation, directly enabling companies to adopt flexible pricing models (like AWS, Snowflake, and OpenAI) while ensuring accuracy, scalability, and transparency. Your work will shape Everest's roadmap for usage metering and position us as the platform of choice for consumption-based businesses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and prioritize the usage metering roadmap
by analyzing customer needs across event ingestion, aggregation, pricing rules, real-time visibility, and integrations with invoicing and revenue recognition systems
  • Translate complex technical requirements
around event-driven architectures, data aggregation at scale, pricing rule engines, and handling edge cases (late data, duplicates, retroactive adjustments) into clear feature specifications for engineering teams
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and QA
to build usage metering capabilities including flexible pricing configurations (tiered, volume, graduated, credit-based), real-time usage dashboards, customer-facing analytics, and robust event processing pipelines
  • Articulate business value
of usage metering features to executives, sales teams, and customers, emphasizing how consumption-based pricing enables modern business models, improves revenue accuracy, and reduces engineering overhead
  • Stay ahead of market trends
in consumption pricing for SaaS/AI companies, competitive platforms (Stripe, Metronome, Amberflo), event-driven architecture best practices, and evolving customer requirements at high-growth software companies

What You Need / Required Skills & Experience

Essential Skills:

  • Strong communication skills
with ability to translate complex event processing, aggregation, and pricing requirements into clear, actionable specifications for engineering and comprehensive documentation for developers
  • Deep domain expertise in usage-based pricing and metering systems
including event ingestion/validation, data aggregation and time-series processing, pricing rule engines, and consumption pricing models (tiered, volume, graduated, prepaid credits)
  • Product mindset
with passion for building developer-facing products that enable flexible consumption pricing, improve operational efficiency, and deliver exceptional user experience
  • Technical fluency
with understanding of how SaaS and AI companies implement consumption-based pricing, including integration points with invoicing, revenue recognition, and customer analytics
  • Self-discipline and adaptability
to work independently in a globally distributed team while balancing accuracy, performance, flexibility, and developer experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills
with ability to work effectively across backend/frontend engineering, design, sales, services, and QA teams

Nice-to-Haves (Preferred, Not Required):

  • Experience with usage metering and invoicing platforms such as Stripe Billing, Metronome, Amberflo, Lago, or m3ter
  • Prior product management experience in developer-facing products, data infrastructure, or invoicing/pricing systems
  • Understanding of data processing patterns: aggregation windows, late-arriving data handling, idempotency, deduplication, backfilling
  • Knowledge of how usage data integrates with revenue recognition systems and accounting requirements
  • Experience at cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) or SaaS companies with usage-based pricing models

What You Bring

  • 2-5+ years of product management experience
or equivalent background in usage metering, invoicing systems, or consumption pricing infrastructure
  • Direct experience implementing usage-based pricing
at SaaS or AI companies, especially those with AWS/Snowflake/Datadog/Twilio/OpenAI-style consumption models
  • Track record of shipping technical products
that require balancing accuracy, scalability, and developer experience in event-driven or data-intensive systems
  • Success in startup or high-growth environments
where you've built products from 0-1 or scaled systems processing millions to billions of events
  • (Optional but valuable): Engineering or technical background
that enables you to engage deeply with architecture decisions, data processing patterns, and integration requirements
