Position Purpose 

Provide exceptional customer service on the  Membership Helpline while answering general Garden questions, updating  contact information and assisting with ticket and membership purchases.  Other responsibilities include processing memberships and gifts and  maintaining constituent records in the Salesforce database.

Employment Dates/Job Schedule:  January - May 10th 2026, Saturday & Sunday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. 

Pay: 18.00/hr, Non-Exempt

Essential Duties 

· Provide exceptional customer service to  members, donors and guests via the Membership Help Line and Membership  email by promptly responding to requests for information and assistance.  

· Help ensure the Development Operations team meet the Garden's internal and external goals for customer service 

·  Enter, maintain, and update constituent records in Salesforce by  ensuring data integrity and accuracy when following prescribed  procedures.  This includes updating database to reflect address changes  received from the USPS and working on special projects as needed.  Perform cleanup in the database.  

· Participate in the weekly  rotation of routine tasks including pulling web orders, calculating  kiosk membership revenue, preparing contribution record forms,  distributing mail, and answering Membership Helpline phone calls and  email inquiries. 

· Enter gifts and memberships into Salesforce with 48-hour gift acknowledgement goal 

· Process credit card, cash, and check payments for all levels of membership and annual appeal gifts 

· Enter Individual, General and Garden Fund memberships into Salesforce 

· Prepare contribution record forms; provide details to the Accounting Office 

· Assist in administrative support for the Development department 

· Assist with maintenance of donor hard copy files as needed 

· Support selected fundraising and special events such as Dinner on the Desert and Las Noches de las Luminarias

Requirements

Competencies 

· High school diploma and minimum three years' experience in an office and/or customer service environment 

· At least 3 years' experience in an office and/or customer service environment. 

· Experience with CRM systems, Salesforce experience preferred.  

· Experience with Ticketure or other ticketing systems preferred.  

·  Dependable and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently  and as part of team to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 

· High level of professionalism and discretion with confidential information 

· Must be a self-starter and team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision.  

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook. 

· Experience with financial transactions, specifically with a point-of-sale system preferred 

· Exceptional customer service and written/verbal communication skills 

· Able to handle multiple projects and tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment with a courteous, enthusiastic approach 

· Flexible schedule to include weekends, holidays and evenings. 

Equipment Used 

Typical office equipment. 

Internal Communication 

Frequent interaction with all Garden employees. 

External Communication 

Regular  communication with Garden employees, donors, potential donors, and  others. This could be in person, via telephone, and/or email. 

Working Conditions 

No  physical effort beyond what's typically required in a normal office  environment. Time periods of high workload may require additional hours.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 

Must  be able to walk, sit, stand, stoop, kneel, bend, see, hear, speak,  read, and type. Manual dexterity and the ability to lift up to 10 pounds  required. Reasonable accommodations may be made, when necessary and  feasible, to allow a qualified individual to perform essential job  functions.
