Job Overview:

We are looking for a people-focused and proactive Human Resources Managerto join our organization. This role is perfect for someone who values and enjoys building strong relationships and is passionate and committed to partnering with leaders to foster high performing, engaged teams. As a Human Resources Manager, you will be a trusted partner and coach to your assigned departments, providing guidance and support in areas including employee development, performance management, compliance, and employee relations.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on a wide variety of matters, including employee relation issues, managing terminations and policy interpretation.
  • Coach and counsels' management on performance management, employee and team development, career development planning, and disciplinary matters.
  • Lead employee relations investigations, ensuring they are conducted thoroughly, objectively, and in a timely manner.
  • Identify and resolve problems efficiently by gathering and analyzing relevant information to support decision-making.
  • Conduct regular scheduled meetings with assigned departments to build strong relationships, address challenges, and promote engagement and productivity.
  • Collaborate with the HR Operations team to facilitate compensation-related activities, including assignments, promotions, referral payments, and other salary adjustments.
  • Conduct exit interviews to collect feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled employee meetings and training sessions.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies and HR best practices across all employee interactions and processes.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and organizational initiatives, as required.
  • Contribute to HR projects aligned with interests and business needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. We're a collaborative team, and sometimes that means stepping outside your usual scope to help with projects or priorities that advance our mission. As such, additional duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned as needed to meet team and organizational goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a Human Resources Manager role.
  • Demonstrated strong follow- up and follow- through skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently with a proactive and self-directed approach.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with strong critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proven experience managing employee relations matters, including conflict resolution.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment while adapting to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Adaptable and flexible, with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Proficiency in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Strong skills across Microsoft Office applications.
  • Solid knowledge of HR best practices and employment laws.

In Person and Travel Requirements:

  • Attend required In-person quarterly staff meetings in New York City.
  • Hybrid remote/onsite schedule with required travel to NYC offices and other branches outside of NYC based on business needs.
