Department: Resale Store

Reports To: Store Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time Availability: Monday through Saturday (Required)

$18/hour



Summary

Responsible for working directly with the Store Manager, staff, and volunteers to ensure the day-to-day operation of both the Schatze Haus Boutique and Schatze Haus Home Store is in compliance with established standards and regulations. As a self-starter, the Assistant Manager is expected to show initiative and leadership skills by overseeing daily activities, managing volunteers across locations, and ensuring a seamless experience for donors and customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Leadership: Acts as a proactive leader; takes initiative to solve problems and improve store flow without constant supervision.

· Multi-Site Support: Coordinates activities and provides coverage for both the Boutique and the Home Store as assigned.

· Logistics & Driving: Must be willing and able to drive the agency box truck to transport donations between locations and facilitate site pickups.

· Operations: Assists with store opening and closing procedures; responsible for store operations in the absence of the Manager.

· Customer Service: Greets and assists customers; handles inquiries via telephone and in person professionally.

· Sales & Cash Handling: Rings up sales utilizing a cash register; collects monies, prepares receipts, and balances daily cash drawers.

· Inventory Management: Receives, processes, prices, and organizes donations; ensures seasonal goods and furniture are rotated and displayed effectively.

· Volunteer Coordination: Assists and directs volunteers, providing clear guidance and leadership.

· Physical Maintenance: Assists with the moving and assembly of furniture, fixtures, and displays; performs housekeeping and maintains the outdoor patio.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

· Initiative: Must be a self-starter with a proven ability to lead a team and work independently.

· Computer Skills: Computer proficiency is a must. Knowledge of spreadsheet software, internet software, and cash register/POS systems is required.

· Language Skills: Ability to read/write simple correspondence and effectively present information to customers and team members.

· Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

· Education: High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates and Licenses

· Valid Driver's License (Required for Box Truck operation)

· First Aid certification

Physical Demands & Equipment

· Equipment: Must be able to safely drive and operate an agency box truck, use a dolly, and operate a cash register.

· Lifting: Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Responsible for moving and rearranging furniture.

· Stamina: Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions and various temperatures within the store and warehouse environments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
