Painter

Westfalia Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Painter to join our growing Production team The Painter is responsible for applying powder coating finishes to steel parts and accessories used in pallet, bag handling, case, and bottling equipment. This role ensures all components meet quality, safety, and production standards.

Essential Job Functions:

• Apply powder coating and bake components to produce a high-quality finish across various equipment parts.
• Tag and label coated components for tracking throughout the production process.
• Complete all required paperwork and documentation daily.
• Perform quality-control checks to ensure proper coverage, adhesion, and finish consistency.
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes as needed to move materials safely.
• Maintain necessary material supplies and notify the Shop Foreman when replenishment is required.
• Assist other departments or team members as needed to support workflow.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of powder coating processes, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to identify surface defects and determine proper surface preparation.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate industrial tools and machinery.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adjust processes as required.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

Education/Experience:

• 2–5 years of experience powder coating conveyors or similar industrial components.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Demonstrated adherence to safety standards.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States with proper documentation.

Preferred:

• Valid forklift operator certification.
• Experience operating overhead cranes up to 10 tons.
• Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment

Work Environment:

• Primarily a manufacturing shop environment with exposure to powder coating materials, chemicals, and industrial equipment.
• Frequent exposure to noise, heat, and airborne particles.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, gloves, hearing protection, and safety glasses may be required.
• Work may involve standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks.
• Must be comfortable working around heavy machinery and moving equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and stoop for extended periods.
• Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other shop equipment safely.
• Manual dexterity needed to handle tools, equipment, and small components.
• Must be able to tolerate exposure to heat during baking processes.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators when necessary.

Travel Requirements:

• This position requires little travel (0-5%) outside of the regular commute to our headquarters.
