NorthStar Wealth Navigation is seeking a motivated and analytical Associate Investment Analyst to join our dynamic Financial Planning and Investment Management team. In this entry-level to early-career role, you will be instrumental in supporting our team assisting in development and implementation of client portfolios, conducting in-depth research, performing data analysis, and assisting in the investment decision-making process. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in financial markets, excellent quantitative skills, and a commitment to accuracy and detail.

Primary Responsibilities:


•Trade Support: Support portfolio managers with day-to-day operations, including trade entry, cash flow monitoring, and ensuring that portfolios are within established investment guidelines and regulatory requirements.


•Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations on portfolio performance, asset allocation, and investment opportunities for both internal stakeholders and clients.


•Portfolio Monitoring & Analysis: Assist in the analysis of portfolio performance, identifying trends and providing insights to portfolio manager.


•Financial Modeling: Utilize financial software and modeling techniques (e.g., in Excel, Envestnet, Morningstar, YCharts) to forecast potential investment outcomes, assess risk, and evaluate new investment opportunities.


•Data Management: Maintain and update portfolio and investment management systems and databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.


•Market Research: Conduct industry and market research, staying abreast of economic indicators and developments to support investment strategies and recommendations.


•Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal teams, including operations, risk management, and compliance, to ensure seamless execution of strategies, issue resolution and client support.

Required Qualifications:


•Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related quantitative field.


•Insurance and Investment Industry Licensing: Life & Health, Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 63, Series 7 must have these licenses within 12 months of hire date


•Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a keen attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.


•Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills (e.g., financial modeling), and experience with or ability to quickly learn financial software/data analysis tools (e.g., Morningstar, YCharts, Bloomberg,).


•Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly.


•Work Ethic: Highly motivated, self-directed, and capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Experience:


• Prior internship or work experience in investment analysis, financial services, or a related role.


•Certifications: Progress toward a professional certification such as the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), APMA (Accredited Portfolio Management Advisor) or CIMA (Certified Investment Management Analyst).
