The HR Business Partner I (HRBP) is a proactive leader who drives business performance through aligned people strategies and operational execution. This role identifies opportunities for process improvement, develops practical solutions, and leads implementation in partnership with leadership. The HRBP communicates clearly and consistently across all levels of the organization, including executive teams. With a strong understanding of the business, this role adapts priorities to support evolving organizational needs. Ownership from concept through execution is essential, ensuring initiatives deliver measurable results.
Primary Duties
:
- Serve as a strategic advisor and consultative partner to client group leaders, conducting regular check-ins and providing insights on workforce matters.
- Leverage data and HR metrics to identify trends, develop proactive solutions, and support workforce planning initiatives.
- Manage complex employee relations matters including investigations, performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies; partner with Legal/Compliance as needed.
- Partner with hiring managers to attract, interview, and hire qualified candidates, ensuring alignment with organizational talent needs.
- Facilitate background checks & employment eligibility verifications in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
- Support onboarding, orientation, and employee engagement initiatives to enhance employee experience.
- Execute core HR programs including performance management, compensation, benefits, leave administration, training, recognition, and health & safety compliance.
- Provide day-to-day support & guidance to managers and employees on HR-related matters, escalating complex issues when appropriate.
- Continuously monitor and integrate HR best practices, trends, and technologies to enhance HR service delivery.
- Champion a culture of inclusion and belonging across the organization.
- Perform other HR duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (Required)
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification (Highly Preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience required, preferably in a business partner or generalist capacity within fast-paced, operationally complex environments (e.g., production, distribution, logistics, supply chain, corporate or similar settings).
- Solid knowledge of employment laws and HR practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms – ADP Workforce Now preferred
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and influence across all levels of the organization
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion
Essential Functions
- Primarily office-based work environment with extended periods of time spent working at a computer, including use of multiple systems and virtual communication tools.
