Head of Data Engineering

The Head of Data and Engineering leader will support our financial services client as they execute on technical strategy in 2026 and beyond. Leading a team of approximately eight contributors (consultants and data/analytics engineers), you will be responsible for:

• Leading the organization's data strategy, governance, and advanced analytics initiatives
• Driving data-driven decision-making
• Ensuring data quality and enabling scalable analytics solutions to support business objectives

Key Requirements include:

• Demonstrated, hands on experience with Data Architecture, Data Modeling and knowledge of software application development
• Hands on experience and expertise in AWS, Snowflake, Airflow, SQL, Python, CICD, Github and knowledge of alternative investing (ideal)
• Proven expertise integrating software engineering best practices into work flow integration across an entire team including: CICD, Github
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
• 10+ years of experience in data management, analytics, and leadership roles.
• Proven expertise in data architecture, cloud platforms (AWS) and big data technologies
• Strong understanding of data governance, compliance, and security best practices
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with machine learning, AI, and predictive analytics
• Knowledge of modern DataOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for data workflows
• Ability to drive cultural change towards data-driven decision-making
