Position Overview

ARCHITECHNICA is seeking a Designer | Project Technician to support project teams throughout the design and documentation process. This role is ideal for an unlicensed architectural professional who is building technical proficiency, gaining exposure to all phases of practice, and working toward licensure or long-term technical specialization.

In this role, you will contribute directly to all phases of design and project coordination, while gaining hands-on experience across all NCARB Architectural Experience Program (AXP) categories. You will work closely with experienced architects and project managers in a collaborative studio environment that actively supports professional growth and licensure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to design development using hand sketching, SketchUp, Revit, and other design and presentation tools
  • Produce and refine architectural renderings and presentation materials
  • Assist with construction document development using Revit
  • Support specifications editing and coordination
  • Provide cost-estimating support through material takeoffs and quantity identification
  • Collaborate with project teams and consultant coordination to support daily project needs across multiple phases
  • Assit project team with public-agency coordination and construction administration, supporting professional growth toward licensure

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture OR 5+ years of documented architectural experience
  • Working knowledge of Revit; familiarity with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering software preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-based studio environment
  • Interest in Public Architecture and community-focused design
  • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
  • Ability to communicate and translate design ideas and direction quickly from verbal to graphic representation
  • Experience with Educational, Government, Cultural, Multifamily, or Athletic Facility projects is a plus.
