Line Cooks

Local 39 is a small, independent restaurant and bar in the heart of Homewood, Alabama. Our menu consists of sports bar staples like hot wings and burgers, plus lighter fare, and shareable bar snacks. We have a full bar with wine, beer, and classic cocktails. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team. As a Line Cook/Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation. Successful candidates will be organized, self-motivated, and have problem-solving abilities. Duties:

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and gathering spices
• Assist in the daily preparation of dishes according to the restaurant's recipes and specifications
• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
• Clean kitchen/cooking utensils and storage of equipment at the end of shifts
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests

Requirements:

• Proven professional experience with demonstrated understanding of cooking skills, knife handling, and food handling safety
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
• Strong time management skills with ability to work with speed and efficiency
• Fortitude to work in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $25.00 per hour
