Medical Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support clinical operations across various specialties, including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient services. This role involves providing exceptional patient care, assisting with medical procedures, and supporting administrative functions within a fast-paced medical environment. Experience with EHR systems, medical terminology, and patient service is essential. Candidates with hospital experience, Level I or Level II trauma center exposure, or clinic experience are highly preferred. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring efficient patient flow and delivering high-quality healthcare services.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and assist with check-in procedures, including intake and vital signs measurement
• Prepare examination rooms and assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures
• Support medication administration and basic life support as needed
• Document patient information accurately in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems using appropriate medical terminology
• Assist with ICD coding, anatomy, physiology knowledge, and documentation for billing purposes
• Perform diagnostic support tasks such as X-ray assistance or other imaging procedures when applicable
• Support inpatient and outpatient care activities across various departments such as Geriatrics, Medical-surgical units, PICU, OR, Emergency medicine, and Level I or Level II trauma centers
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas in compliance with safety standards
• Provide patient service by answering questions, offering education on treatments or procedures, and ensuring comfort throughout their visit

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in settings such as hospitals, clinics, or urgent care centers
• Knowledge of dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, or related specialties is advantageous
• Familiarity with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration
• Experience working in hospital environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers or PICU is a plus
• Ability to work efficiently in outpatient or inpatient settings across diverse medical disciplines including geriatrics and medical-surgical units
• Excellent patient service skills with compassionate communication abilities
• Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments requiring multitasking and attention to detail
