Educational Assistant

Our non-profit school for oral deaf education is seeking full-time Educational Assistants This is a Monday through Friday position. The school is closed for holidays, school breaks, and summer break. As an hourly employee, you will be unpaid during school closures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of High School diploma
• Must be able to pass background check
• Must be willing to enroll in college courses towards Early Childhood Education degree, required
• Must have the ability to get on the floor to play, and to lift young children

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Assisting teachers with preparation and/or delivery of instructional material; music and games, art, reading, math activities, etc.
• Assisting in one-on-one and small group activities;
• Assisting in caring for student needs: May include such duties as feeding, cleaning, toileting, clothing changes, and assisting with other daily living activities;
• Assisting in management of students who may be disruptive or combative;
• Assisting with supervision of students on the playground, cafeteria, restrooms, etc.
• Participating in staff meetings, in-service training, and other school activities
• Performing clerical duties for teachers;
• Performing substitute duties as assigned;
• performing other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $18.00 per hour
