The EVS Aide / Housekeeper plays a critical role at Ellsworth County Medical Center — serving as one of our first lines of defense against infection while helping create a clean, welcoming, and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

This position is perfect for someone who takes pride in their work, values teamwork, and understands that cleanliness in healthcare truly saves lives.

Clean, Disinfect & Protect

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout ECMC facilities

• Perform dry and damp mopping, dusting, trash removal, and floor care

• Disinfect high-touch surfaces using approved products and processes

• Assist with deep cleaning as needed

Support Patients & Visitors

• Provide friendly, helpful assistance to patients and visitors throughout the facility

• Deliver Five-Star customer service in every interaction

Communicate & Improve

• Document daily work on status sheets

• Communicate frequently with supervisors and teammates to address challenges

• Submit maintenance requests when issues are identified

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and cleaning process enhancements

Safety & Equipment

• Use cleaning chemicals according to manufacturer instructions

• Safely operate and care for cleaning equipment (vacuums, carts, etc.)

• Restock carts, closets, and linen areas at the end of each shift

• Follow all safety, compliance, and infection-control protocols

Education & Experience

• Minimum age: 17

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

• Previous cleaning or related experience preferred (but not required)

Skills & Qualities

• Strong attention to detail

• Dependable and self-motivated

• Professional judgment, honesty, and integrity

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Willingness to learn and grow in a healthcare environment

Certifications

• CPR optional

• Medium work: lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs occasionally

• Standing, walking, bending, reaching, and squatting throughout the shift

• Indoor work across all ECMC facilities

• Frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment (with training and PPE)
