About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Tech to join our team at UAB Medical West. As an Ultrasound Tech, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images for medical interpretation. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely diagnoses to patients. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be critical to the success of our team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a Sonography or Radiologic Technology program.
  • Registry in good standing or Registry eligible by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). If registry eligible must pass the registry within two years of employment.
  • BLS required or must obtain within 30 days of hire date.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in diagnostic ultrasound procedures
  • Experience with advanced ultrasound procedures such as vascular, musculoskeletal, or pediatric imaging
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of patient procedures and results
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnoses
  • Maintain and operate ultrasound equipment

Skills:

As an Ultrasound Tech, you will use your strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to perform diagnostic imaging procedures using ultrasound equipment. You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnoses. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be critical to the success of our team. Additionally, experience with advanced ultrasound procedures and electronic medical records (EMR) systems will be beneficial in this role.
