We are hiring an experienced Forklift Operator for our facility in Omaha, Nebraska. This role is critical for the efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and products, move them to and from storage areas, and assist in order fulfillment. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, possesses excellent operational skills, and has a proven track record of safe forklift operation. You will play a key part in our logistics and inventory management processes.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to move pallets and materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring safe and secure handling of goods.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Accurately pick and stage orders for shipment, using a forklift as required.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and other equipment, reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately.
- Maintain organized and safe working conditions in all areas where forklifts are operated.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and stock rotation, as needed.
- Support the overall logistics operations by performing other warehouse duties as assigned.
- Ensure efficient flow of materials and products within the facility.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Proven ability to operate various types of forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and regulations related to forklift operation.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced logistics setting.
- Good communication skills and the ability to report issues effectively.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, such as safety shoes and vests.
