We are hiring a motivated Distribution Center Associate for our facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is essential for the smooth operation of our logistics network. You will be involved in various aspects of warehouse management, including receiving and processing inbound shipments, accurately picking and packing orders, and preparing items for dispatch. We are looking for individuals who are energetic, reliable, and committed to upholding our high standards of safety and efficiency. Your diligence in maintaining a clean workspace and adhering to all safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE, is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming inventory, verifying against purchase orders.
- Stock merchandise in designated warehouse locations accurately and efficiently.
- Pick and pack customer orders using RF scanners or pick lists.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring proper packaging, labeling, and documentation.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and effectively.
- Conduct regular inventory cycle counts and assist with physical inventory as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following all safety guidelines and mandatory PPE requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and enhance logistics operations.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment is highly preferred.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds repetitively.
- Proficiency with scanning technology and basic warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and the correct application of PPE.
- Experience operating forklifts is a significant advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including overtime if needed.
