We are looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to manage our outbound logistics operations in San Jose, California. This role is critical in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurate, properly documented, and dispatched efficiently. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for preparing shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that all orders are processed according to company standards and customer requirements. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to accuracy are key. If you are organized, reliable, and have experience in shipping and logistics, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and print shipping labels and documentation for all outgoing shipments.
- Verify outgoing orders for accuracy against shipping manifests and customer orders.
- Schedule pickups with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL).
- Load outgoing shipments onto trucks safely and efficiently, ensuring proper securing of goods.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and track shipment statuses.
- Communicate with internal teams and external carriers to resolve any shipping-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Operate shipping dock equipment, such as pallet jacks or forklifts, safely (certification may be required).
- Adhere to all workplace safety standards, including the use of required PPE.
- Follow all Lifting guidelines to ensure safe handling of packages.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and carrier portals.
- Familiarity with various shipping methods and regulations.
- Excellent data entry and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and move packages.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the proper use of PPE.
