We are seeking a skilled and proactive Warehouse Technician to maintain the operational efficiency and safety of our advanced logistics facility in Huntsville, Alabama. This role is critical for ensuring that all warehouse equipment and infrastructure are in optimal working condition. The Warehouse Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and ensuring that our facilities meet high safety standards. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on warehouse equipment, including forklifts, conveyor systems, and automated machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on warehouse equipment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of the warehouse facility and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including proper use of PPE and adherence to Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
- Support the logistics team by ensuring equipment availability and reliability.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure all team members understand Lifting best practices.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies for maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with various types of warehouse equipment and machinery.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations, including PPE requirements.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks, including Lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, and working in various conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- A strong commitment to safety and operational excellence in logistics.
