We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Material Handler to join our bustling facility in San Diego, California. This position is fundamental to our logistics and supply chain operations, involving the movement, storage, and organization of materials within the warehouse. You will utilize various equipment to ensure the efficient and safe handling of goods, playing a critical role in maintaining our operational standards. Responsibilities:
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks, safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, and other transport vehicles.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Receive, identify, and stock incoming materials according to established procedures.
- Assist with order picking and packing as needed, ensuring accuracy and speed.
- Conduct regular inspections of material handling equipment and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of appropriate PPE.
- Participate in inventory management, cycle counts, and stocktaking.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize logistics workflow and meet production goals.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating various types of material handling equipment; relevant certifications are required.
- A strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and the proper use of PPE.
- Ability to read and understand product labels, shipping documents, and safety warnings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, as needed.
