We are looking for a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is vital for the efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating a forklift safely and effectively to load, unload, transport, and stack materials. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to safety. As part of our logistics team, you will play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a forklift to move, load, unload, and stack materials.
- Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of the forklift and report any issues immediately.
- Transport materials to and from various warehouse locations.
- Assist with receiving and shipping operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in inventory counts and assist with maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Follow all instructions from supervisors regarding material handling and logistics tasks.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the logistics team.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret product labels and warehouse signage.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
