We are looking to recruit experienced Electrical Design Engineers at varying level of seniority from Experienced (ideally Chartered), to Senior, Principal and Senior Principal levels) to join the team across the UK. You will have the opportunity to get involved in wide range of projects including energy from waste, solar, interconnectors, windfarms, substations, OHL, energy building design, protection systems, LVAC, pump stations, etc. For more info on our projects, hear what our team have to say here. As a Principal/Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in all aspects of projects, from feasibility studies and concept design to construction and commissioning. You will be responsible for leading the electrical design of projects, including generators, control and instrumentation systems, protection, substations and transmission lines. You will perform design, model and analyse electrical and electronic systems to ensure project feasibility and compliance with industry standards. You will provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and collaborate with civil, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines to ensure a fully integrated project design.
Responsibilities
Lead the electrical design of projects, including generators, control and instrumentation systems, protection, substations and transmission lines. Perform design, model and analyse electrical and electronic systems to ensure project feasibility and compliance with industry standards. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and collaborate with civil, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines to ensure a fully integrated project design.
Qualifications
HV and EHV voltages with experience of working with UK requirements/regulations. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with the IET (ideally). Energy sector experience preferred; experience in water or buildings is useful. Experience in producing and interpreting design drawings and documents including single line diagrams, key line diagrams, block cable diagrams, calculations (equipment sizing and fault ratings), load schedules, specifications and reports; familiarity with collaborative reviews and design of solutions. Strong communication skills for presenting to clients and design engineers; ability to contribute to collaborative design discussions and technical workshops.
