Job description:

Are you a motivated and organized individual looking to join a positive and welcoming dental practice? We are seeking a dedicated dental assistant to support our general dental practice, where Dr. Weigel, a sole practitioner, delivers exceptional care to our diverse patient base, including multi-generational families.

In this role, you will be responsible for assisting our dentist during procedures, developing X-rays, managing patient records, and interacting with patients to ensure they feel comfortable and informed about their treatment. Both part-time and full-time positions are available. Our office hours are Monday - Thursday and one Saturday a month.

Clinical duties:

  • Prepare and set up treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures.
  • Perform chairside assisting for dentists and dental hygienists during exams and treatments.
  • Process dental radiographs (X-rays).
  • Process dental impressions.
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment following infection control and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and manage medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Stay updated on infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Provide patients with oral hygiene and post-operative instructions.
  • Manage dental and medical emergencies if necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or similar role within a healthcare setting is preferred, but we value potential and transferable skills as well.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, dental terminology and medical documentation practices is preferred.
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures relevant to dental practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients of all ages.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Proficiency in using dental software systems; familiarity with Dentrix is an advantage.

Job Type: Part-time or Full-time

Pay: $ $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 38.0 per week
