Retail Pharmacist

Black River Health is recruiting for (1) Part-time Retail Pharmacist. The Retail Pharmacist delivers high-quality pharmaceutical care in a retail setting by dispensing medications, providing clinical guidance, and educating patients to promote optimal health outcomes. Collaborates with healthcare providers and retail pharmacy staff to ensure accuracy, compliance, and patient safety. The desired candidate will have a B.S. in a five-year pharmaceutical program or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D). This position is located at our Krohn Clinic campus. This position is:

• Part-time, 40 hours per pay period, with every 3rd weekend rotation

Essential Duties:

• Dispenses prescription and over-the-counter medications accurately and efficiently while ensuring regulatory compliance and patient safety.
• Provides patient counseling regarding prescription and non-prescription medications, drug interactions, and proper usage.
• Reviews and verifies prescription orders to ensure accuracy, legality, and clinical appropriateness.
• Collaborates with prescribers and healthcare professionals to recommend therapeutic alternatives and resolve medication-related issues.

Participates in the management of the 340B Drug Pricing Program in alignment with organizational policy.

• Supports billing and insurance claim resolution processes, including prior authorizations and third-party communications.

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (B.S) in a five-year pharmaceutical program or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited college of pharmacy
• Current and unrestricted license to practice as a Pharmacist in the State of Wisconsin
• Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and point-of-sale technologies
• Strong clinical knowledge and counseling skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
