The Loss Prevention Associate contributes to the success of Sur La Table by securing company assets and overall safety of the distribution center. The Loss Prevention Associate reports to either a Distribution Supervisor or Operations Manager.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitor employees and visitors entering and exiting the building

Greet visitors in a professional and courteous manner

Monitor video surveillance

Watch and report irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations

Contact emergency responders as needed or as instructed by management

Answer telephone calls and route appropriately

Maintain batteries of scanners and other equipment

Order office supplies and issue badges/locks as needed

General housekeeping, maintenance and organization of work area

Record time worked, accurately and according to SLT policy

Consistently follows all Sur La Table policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Additional responsibilities as assigned

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Ability to communicate verbally and work cooperatively with employees, vendors, and visitors

Ability to use the computer and other office equipment to accomplish work tasks

Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time

Ability to accurately complete documentation

Able to work overtime and weekends as business dictates.

Ability to perform duties in an environment that is not climate controlled and will be exposed to dust, odors and noise.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior facility security experience preferred

Maintain a high degree of confidentiality

Strong attention to detail

Must be at least 18 years old
