Job Overview
The Quality Technician is responsible for assisting or leading the deployment of quality initiatives within Marvin production departments. This person will become an important and highly valued member of the production area team by displaying a strong work ethic and competency for the tasks assigned. Attain a deeper understanding of a formal quality management system. Must be able to work successfully with employees at all levels and disciplines.
Highlights of your role
- Provide direct assistance to Round Tops Product Group on quality related matters. This includes nonconforming materials, corrective actions, calibration, etc. Maintain quality system procedures and statistical databases for products and processes.
- Perform internal product and process audits.
- Train employees at various levels on quality policies, procedures, and specifications.
- Provide reporting of quality metrics to Round Top Product Group.
- Assist other Quality Department members, conduct capability studies on product and processes, engagement with control plans and FMEA's and use other quality tools.
- Perform other assigned duties compatible with the Quality Department.
You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)
- High school diploma (GED)
- Additional coursework in Vocation or Technical school is a plus
- 1+ years of experience in a technically oriented position
- ASQ certification as a Certified Quality Technician, preferred or attained within two years
- Proven math, problem solving and decision-making capabilities
- Familiarity with Marvin and Microsoft office suite software, able to learn and use other statistical software applications
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate in front of individuals, teams and audiences
- Ability to read and understand prints, drawings and specifications
- Ability to read and utilize standard measuring devices for verification of product and equipment conformity and capability
- Good attendance and individual performance record
- Ability to schedule and manage projects
