Position Summary

Join Milk Sugar Love Creamery & Bakeshop as a Counter Team Member at our Asbury Park location. In this role, you'll be essential in delivering warm, welcoming customer experiences while supporting our mission to serve the highest-quality, made-from-scratch ice cream.

You'll scoop ice cream and prepare frozen treats from our full shop menu, with opportunities to learn barista skills for our specialty coffee program. Team members may also work events and farmers' markets and have the chance to cross-train in our full production kitchen. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role with room to grow and learn across multiple areas of the business.

This is a W-2 employee position only.

Baseline Expectations

• Arrive on time and ready to work for each scheduled shift
• Maintain a clean uniform and positive, professional attitude
• Read team updates on WhatsApp as they are issued to stay prepared
• Learn and memorize our core flavors, menu items, preparation standards, and marketing message
• Smile—ice cream is fun, and guests come in ready for a great experience
• Be open to real-time feedback and willing to adjust as directed
• Be ready to clean—food service is 50% cleaning, and we take pride in a spotless shop

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and communicate our brand and menu clearly
• Accurately prepare and serve all menu items
• Operate the Square POS system, including ringing purchases and handling card and cash payments
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all work areas
• Follow food safety protocols at all times

Qualifications

• Prior experience in food service or retail preferred
• Strong customer service skills and a friendly, guest-focused attitude
• Ability to count money and make change accurately
• Excellent time management and multitasking skills
• Enthusiasm for working with guests in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in quick-service or fast-food settings is a plus

Pay: $ $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 25.0 per week
