Job Summary / Basic Function
This administrative position requires an experienced nurse manager who can coordinate that dynamic aspects of PA Thrives rural health care clinics. This position will manage the care of patients in our 13 counties by maintaining clinics scheduled to meet the needs of our patients and grant funders. This position will work closely with the team of infectious disease providers to ensure the clinic schedule is managed with integrity and continuity. This role will require a professional that can work as a liaison between the nursing and the infectious disease providers to ensure exception health care is maintained, displays professional integrity, maintains confidentiality of personnel and patients and can fluidly navigate a multitude of electronic record keeping systems with competence. This position will require a leader who has worked with patients not only in HIV/HCV care settings and in a multitude of high risk, challenging environments.
Supervisor Duties
- Provide professional, consistent supervision of the nursing team
- Provide professional, consistent supervision of the medical assistance
- Manage the staff schedules to ensure the needs of the program are met
- Provide training to the clinic teams on an ongoing basis
- Manage the Stand By schedule with consistency
- Lead the recruitment and training process for new hires
- Manage and authorize the monthly Time and Effort reports to ensure accurate invoicing
- Provide constructive guidance and corrective measures with sound documentation and follow up, as needed
Quality Management/Data Requirements: ·
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting as directed by our grant funders
- Ensure consistent and accurate use of the EMR by all staff, through initial and ongoing training
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures that address all state, federal, PennWest and grant requirements
- Ensure consistent implementation of said policies and procedures
- Manage the intake process to ensure all records are on file and maintained as directed by our grant funders
Operations:
- Manage and supervise the ordering of medications, vaccines and clinic supplies
- Stay current and active the care of clinic patients with the ability to cover a clinic in the nurse capacity when program needs indicate
- Manage the clinic schedule and sites to ensure quality staff coverage and the integrity of each site with required equipment and supplies
- Manage the annual CLIA and State Lab permits with renewal and monthly monitoring of each site as required by regulations
- Maintain relationships with community stakeholders that partner with PA Thrive; clinic sites, referral resources, training opportunities
Administrative:
- Participate as a member of PA Thrive Executive Team
- Work closely with other leadership team members to ensure consistent policies and procedures and in place to meet all aspects of the various grants
- Participate with budget and fiscal meetings to ensure the needs of the grant work plans are met and budgetary obligations are adhered to
- Work closely with PennWest Human Resource office and maintain working knowledge of the union contracts that impact the clinic staff
- Maintain professional privacy and confidentiality regarding management decisions and processes
- Maintain routine clinic meetings to provide ongoing trainings, review of processes and ensure a cohesive clinical team through the two office sites
Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Nursing leadership experience in the management of professionals providing care of people in high-risk setting, HIV/HCV, 6 months – 1 year
- Scheduling experience of nurses/clinic settings, 6 months – 1 year preferred
- Or a combination of leadership and scheduling experience
- Venipuncture experience
Minimum of Education / TrainingRequired Education Summary
- ACRN Certification or the ability to acquire that within 2 years from date of hire
- Certified in HIV/HCV counseling and testing
- BSN or Bachelor's Degree in related field
