Position Description: Salus Discovery is looking to welcome a driven and passionate Assistant Scientist, Associate Scientist, or Scientist (depending on experience) to support development of innovative, rapid, point-of-care, medical diagnostic products. Candidates must have already graduated or be graduating by January 31, 2026 and must demonstrate a strong work ethic, excellent technical communication skills, and a proven ability to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to innovate, problem-solve, and be motivated by continuous improvement
• Experience in and knowledge of experimental design & interpretation
• Proficiency in some or all of the following laboratory skills:
• Bead-based extraction of nucleic acids, proteins, cells
• Antibody conjugation
• Buffer formulation
• Running ELISAs or other immunoassays
• Paper microfluidics
• Running PCR or LAMP reactions
• Experience in the following areas is viewed positively:
• Mechanical / microscale device engineering
• Rapid prototyping fabrication
• Data analysis
• Workplace SOPs
• Willingness to process and handle biological samples
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Interest and/or experience in global health

Experience and Education

• BS, MS, or PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, bioengineering, chemical engineering, biology, or related field
• Experience with data/statistical analysis (Excel/R/Python) is highly desirable
• Experience with analytical instrumentation is highly desirable

Founded in 2013 and located on Madison, Wisconsin's capitol square, Salus Discovery is developing next generation bioassays. Salus Discovery's initial focus has been on Exclusion-based Sample Preparation (ESP), which is a novel approach to isolating biomarkers, that is quicker, easier, and more economical than competing technologies. We launched our first product, EXTRACTMANTM, in collaboration with Gilson, Inc. in 2016. Salus Discovery has since received funding to develop cutting-edge research tools and diagnostics for HIV, tuberculosis, schistosomiasis, and cancer.
