A Day in the Life of this Role:

In accordance with the mission and under the general direction of the Operations Director, the Practice Manager organizes and assists in evaluating the health center's delivery of high-quality, accessible patient care services. The Practice Manager works closely with the Operations Director, Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, the site Medical Director, and other members of the management team to manage day-to-day operations.

Summary of Duties:

  • · Manages and maintains clinical schedule. Collaborates closely with the Nurse Manager and site Medical Director to maintain a clinical appointment schedule, which supports quality patient care and maximum productivity of clinical staff.
  • · Works with the Nurse Manager to review schedules weekly to anticipate any problems.
  • · Provides administrative oversight and direction to health center staff in support of the Operations Director for day-to-day scheduling needs.
  • · Processes time off requests and payroll timecards for site staff.
  • · Assists in coordinating operations of the health center with those of other Outer Cape Health sites and programs, assuring consistent standards of practice from site to site.
  • · Seeks resolution of interdepartmental operating problems and conflicts as needed.
  • · Monitors approved scheduling budgets to ensure that departments remain within approved levels.
  • · Assures compliance with all government and contract requirements for all Health Center services under the direction of the Operations Director.
  • · Participates in the implementation of short- and long-term plans based on forecasts of clinical needs.
  • · Should conflicts arise, inform the Nurse Manager and/or Medical Director
  • · Addresses any conflicts or complaints from patients and identifies the best way to resolve the issue.
  • · Completes an Event Report when appropriate and follows up with the Director of Operations if needed.
  • · Assists in the investigation and resolution of patient complaints about clinic services in collaboration with the Operations Director, Director of Nursing, and Site Medical Director.
  • · Participates in regular management meetings with the Operations Director.
  • · Holds regular meetings in the health center to keep employees informed and encourage participation in service improvement.
  • · Orients, trains, and manages the performance of assigned health center staff under the direction of the Operations Director.
  • · Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field to enhance professional expertise.
  • · Regularly monitors work area and environment. May conduct safety rounds. Identifies and rectifies unsafe working conditions or hazards. May provide additional training to staff as needed regarding the work environment.
  • · Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications

What we need from you:

· Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be patient-focused and have a commitment to high-quality and accessible health care.

· Strong problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal communication, and performance management skills are essential.

· Excellent patient advocacy, employee relations, and physician relations skills. Must have the ability to manage, change, and develop a team approach in a busy primary health care environment.

· Experience in a clinical setting.

· Associate's degree.

· Computer skills required.

Preferred Qualifications, Education, and Experience

· Knowledge of and previous experience with an EMR is strongly preferred.
