Overview
We are seeking a skilled Powder Coating Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating and maintaining powder coating equipment to ensure high-quality finishes on a variety of products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing processes, industrial painting, and materials handling, with an emphasis on precision and safety. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in fabrication, machining, or auto body repair to apply their skills in a dynamic environment.

Duties

  • Operate powder coating equipment, including spray booths and curing ovens, ensuring consistent application of coatings.
  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or masking prior to coating application.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and airless paint spraying equipment to apply coatings accurately.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot machinery, including cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
  • Perform quality inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify coating thickness and finish quality.
  • Handle materials safely using proper lifting techniques and warehouse procedures; operate forklifts and cranes as needed.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on coating equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Follow safety protocols related to industrial painting and fabrication processes.
  • Assist in fabrication or assembly tasks as required, supporting lean manufacturing initiatives.

Skills

  • Proven experience with industrial painting techniques such as powder coating, auto painting, or auto body repair.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing equipment and maintenance procedures.
  • Familiarity with machining, fabrication, welding, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
  • Experience with materials handling equipment including forklifts and cranes.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency.
  • Ability to operate precision measuring instruments for quality control purposes.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during production processes.
  • Warehouse experience is a plus for efficient inventory management and material movement.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards related to construction painting, industrial painting, and general fabrication environments. This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and eager to contribute their technical skills within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Pay: $ $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
