Automation and Controls Engineer

We are a well-established engineering company that specializes in Automation and Control Systems in the dairy and food industry, with offices in Minneapolis, MN and Milwaukee, WI. We are seeking full-time Automation and Controls Engineers for our Minnesota office.

Position Summary:

The Automation and Controls Engineer is responsible for the support and execution of automation and control projects with M4 Control Systems customers.

Duties Include:

• Responsible for PLC programming and modifications to support client projects.
• Responsible for Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming and modifications to support client projects.
• Prepare network or system layouts, detailed drawings and schematics.
• Interface with project team members to schedule, implement and track automation control projects.
• Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies and other standards of conduct.

Skills/Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering required. Electrical Engineering or related preferred. 2 – 5 years of work experience required.

Working knowledge and experience with the engineering, programming, and implementation of industrial control systems required. Possess technical problem-solving skills and proven project experience.

Understanding of control systems, components, PLC programming, HMI programming and their applications required.

Experience with development and design software including Visual Studio, SQL, Autocad, and Solidworks Electrical preferred. Computer experience with general business software including Microsoft Word and Excel is required.

Candidate needs to possess good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of clients, co-workers, management and executive staff.

Ability to read and interpret various technical, operating and process documents, write reports and correspondence both technical and business related.

Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

Must be a U.S. Citizen or have a Permanent Resident Green Card.

Job Types: Full-time, Internship

Pay: $80, $120,000.00 per year
