Appaloosa Dental Partners is a growing, multi-state Dental Service Organization (DSO) committed to supporting high quality clinical care through strong operational infrastructure. Our team partners closely with providers and payors to ensure seamless onboarding, compliance, and revenue cycle performance across all locations.
We are seeking an experienced Credentialing Specialist to join our in-office team in Plano, TX. This role is critical to supporting provider onboarding, maintaining payor compliance, and ensuring uninterrupted participation with dental insurance networks.
Position Summary
The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end credentialing and recredentialing process for dental providers across multiple states. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of dental payor requirements, and the ability to manage multiple applications and timelines simultaneously within a fast-paced DSO environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage initial credentialing and recredentialing for dentists and specialists
· Complete, submit, and track provider applications with commercial payors, Medicare, and managed care plans
· Maintain accurate provider records including CAQH, NPI, state licenses, DEA, malpractice, and board certifications
· Monitor credentialing status and follow up with payors to ensure timely approvals
· Coordinate closely with internal teams including Revenue Cycle and Operations
· Support new practice acquisitions and provider onboarding initiatives
· Ensure compliance with state, federal, and payor requirements
· Maintain credentialing trackers, documentation logs, and audit-ready files
· Identify and escalate credentialing risks that may impact provider billing or network participation
Qualifications & Experience
· Minimum 3 years of dental credentialing experience required (DSO experience strongly preferred)
· Proven experience working with dental payors (PPO, Medicaid, HMO/DHMO plans)
· Strong understanding of multi-state credentialing processes
· Experience managing multiple providers and timelines simultaneously
· High level of accuracy, organization, and follow-through
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
· Experience with credentialing software or tracking systems a plus
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Experience
· Experience credentialing within a Dental Service Organization (DSO)
· Familiarity with payors such as Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, Delta Dental, Guardian, MetLife, and Government programs
· Experience supporting rapid growth, acquisitions, or multi-location practices

Pay: $70, $75,000.00 per year
