Job Description: Product Owner - Residential Room Air Conditioners

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Product Owner to lead the planning and lifecycle management for our residential room air conditioning products, including window units, portable air conditioners, and dehumidifiers. This role is central to driving our product strategy, ensuring market relevance, and delivering innovative solutions that meet customer needs across the North American market.

Position Overview

As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for the end-to-end product lifecycle—from concept to retirement—for our residential room air conditioner category. You will translate market insights into actionable product strategies, maintain a competitive product roadmap, and ensure alignment with company objectives. Your work will directly impact our market position, product excellence, and channel relationships.

  • Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and maintain a 3–5 year product roadmap that aligns with company goals and market trends. Define product specifications, features, and innovation priorities based on robust analysis.
  • Market & Customer Insight: Gather and analyze feedback from end-users, contractors, and distributors. Attend key industry events (e.g., ACCA, HARDI) to identify emerging trends and customer needs.
  • Competitive Analysis: Conduct ongoing market and competitor monitoring to identify product gaps, service differentiators, and potential areas for improvement. Use tools like SWOT and value-chain analysis to inform strategy.
  • Product Development & Lifecycle Management: Lead cross-functional teams to execute product improvements and new designs. Manage product lifecycle stages, from launch to end-of-life, ensuring performance and profitability.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all products meet necessary certifications and regulations (e.g., UL, DOE, CCC) throughout the development cycle.
  • Pricing & Profitability: Support the development of strategic pricing models by evaluating product margins, cost structures, and competitive positioning.
  • Training & Support: Provide product training and support to internal teams and external partners. Clearly communicate product value propositions, features, and key benefits.
  • Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in HVAC or residential air conditioning products (e.g., window units, portable ACs, dehumidifiers).
  • Proven track record in product lifecycle management, including market analysis, product planning, and cross-functional project leadership.
  • Strong experience with competitive analysis, customer insight translation, and roadmap development for hardware products.
  • Familiarity with ODM/OEM models and experience working with supply chain partners to ensure product quality and efficiency.
  • Knowledge of North American HVAC standards, certification requirements, and market dynamics is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency additional languages is a plus. Ability to lead meetings, prepare documentation, and deliver presentations with clarity.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed for projects, supplier meetings, or industry events.
  • What We Offer
    Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive benefits package and long-term incentives.
  • Opportunities for professional growth in a global organization.
  • A collaborative, customer-centric culture that encourages innovation and initiative.

To apply, please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and vision for residential AC product management.
