About Us:

DeCoach Recovery Centre, a local leader in addiction treatment is currently hiring a dietary cook for our Dayton location. We offer a range of evidence-based treatments and therapies tailored to each patient's unique needs, with a focus on long-term recovery and wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meal Preparation and Cooking:
  • Prepare and cook meals according to the menu and dietary guidelines.
  • Adjust recipes as needed to accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and preferences.
  • Meal Delivery to local DeCoach housing locations, and monthly catering.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation:
  • Follow proper food handling and storage protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, appliances, and equipment.
  • Adhere to health department standards and facility policies.
  • Menu Management:
  • Assist in planning and updating menus in collaboration with the dietary manager.
  • Ensure portion control and minimize food waste.
  • Inventory and Supplies:
  • Monitor food supplies and notify the manager of replenishment needs.
  • Ensure ingredients are fresh and of high quality.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with dietary aides and other staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Communicate with nursing staff or dietitians regarding specific resident dietary needs.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience as a cook in a healthcare, hospitality, or similar setting preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Knowledge of dietary requirements, including special diets (e.g., low sodium, diabetic).
  • Strong culinary and knife skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a hot, fast-paced environment.
