Position Overview

Devout Corporation seeks a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to support our federal healthcare IT modernization initiatives. This role will involve protecting critical healthcare systems, ensuring compliance with federal security standards, and implementing robust cybersecurity solutions across DoD and VA environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain security controls for federal healthcare IT systems in compliance with NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP requirements
  • Conduct security assessments, vulnerability analyses, and risk assessments for electronic health record systems and supporting infrastructure
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, conducting forensic analysis and implementing remediation strategies
  • Develop and maintain security documentation including System Security Plans (SSPs), Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and Risk Assessment Reports
  • Support Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and continuous monitoring activities for federal healthcare systems
  • Implement security best practices for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or hybrid architectures)
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects and system administrators to integrate security into healthcare IT modernization projects
  • Perform security configuration management and ensure compliance with DoD and VA security technical implementation guides (STIGs)
  • Support incident response activities and coordinate with security operations centers (SOCs)
  • Provide technical guidance on cybersecurity requirements to development teams and stakeholders

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or related roles
  • Active Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong understanding of NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST controls, and Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Experience with security tools including SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners, and intrusion detection/prevention systems
  • Knowledge of federal compliance requirements (FISMA, HIPAA, FedRAMP)
  • Hands-on experience with security assessment tools and methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification (Security+ CE, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting DoD or VA healthcare IT systems or electronic health record implementations
  • Additional certifications such as GIAC, CEH, CISA, or cloud security certifications (AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer)
  • Experience with healthcare data security and HIPAA compliance
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and security automation
  • Experience with container security (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of zero trust architecture principles

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110, $145,000.00 per year
