Room Attendant

Job Summary:

The Room Attendant at Holiday Inn Express Macon North is responsible for ensuring guest rooms and public areas are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained to provide an exceptional experience for our guests. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic, excellent time management skills, and a commitment to upholding the high standards of cleanliness and hospitality set by Holiday Inn Express. The Room Attendant will work as part of a team to deliver a welcoming and enjoyable stay for all guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Room Cleaning and Maintenance:

• Clean and prepare guest rooms according to Holiday Inn Express brand standards, including making beds, dusting furniture, vacuuming carpets, and cleaning windows or mirrors.
• Replenish guest room supplies such as towels, toiletries, linens, and other amenities.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in designated areas.
• Inspect rooms for damages, maintenance issues, or safety hazards and report them to the Housekeeping Supervisor immediately.

Bathroom Sanitation:

• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, and bathtubs, ensuring a spotless and hygienic environment.
• Restock bathroom supplies such as toilet paper, tissues, and soap.

Public Area Upkeep:

• Assist in maintaining cleanliness in public areas such as hallways, lobbies, stairwells, and elevators as assigned.
• Ensure all surfaces, including furniture and fixtures, are free of dust, smudges, or debris.

Guest Interaction:

• Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests or concerns, escalating issues to the supervisor when necessary.
• Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor while interacting with guests and team members.

Inventory and Equipment Management:

• Report low inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, or amenities to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Properly use and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, adhering to safety guidelines.

Compliance and Safety:

• Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and adherence to OSHA standards.
• Ensure lost-and-found items are reported and turned in according to hotel protocol.

Qualifications:

Experience: Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.

Skills:

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work efficiently under time constraints and prioritize tasks.
• Good physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting up to 25 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Basic communication skills to interact with guests and team members.

Availability: Must be available to work flexible shifts, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for prolonged periods.
• Capable of pushing/pulling a housekeeping cart and lifting moderate weight (e.g., linens, trash bags).
• Comfortable working in various environmental conditions (e.g., exposure to cleaning chemicals with proper PPE provided).
