Project Manager / Estimator – Maintenance, Service, Small & Large Projects
Location: Whittier, CA
Type: Full-Time | In-Office
Compensation: $95,000 – $115,000 base + performance bonus (DOE)

We are a Whittier-based industrial and commercial electrical contractor performing maintenance, service, T&M work, and short and long duration installation projects throughout Los Angeles and surrounding counties.

We are hiring our first dedicated Project Manager / Estimator to professionalize estimating, job execution, and financial control — while ownership retains dispatch and scheduling.
Position Summary
This role is responsible for estimating, job setup, cost control, change orders, and close-out for service work and small and large installation projects.
It is a hands-on, fast-paced role managing many short-cycle jobs simultaneously.
This position does NOT include daily service dispatch or emergency scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating
- Prepare fast, accurate pricing for maintenance, service, small and large projects
- Develop clear scopes, exclusions, and assumptions
- Price T&M, NTE, as well as small and large lump-sum work
Project Management (Service & Small/large Jobs)
- Manage multiple short-duration jobs (days to weeks)
- Manage multiple long duration jobs (months)
- Track job costs and labor performance
- Ensure jobs close within ±3% of estimate
- Coordinate with foremen and ownership
- Maintain clear job documentation
T&M & Change Order Control
- Review T&M tickets for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure timely billing of service and small jobs
- Price change orders within 72 hours
- Track and follow up on CO approvals
Financial & Reporting
- Maintain job cost visibility
- Forecast cost at completion
- Track margin performance on managed work
- Support backlog and workload forecasting
What This Role Is NOT
- Not a large-corporate PM role
- Not a dispatch or service coordinator position
- Not a long-duration, mega-project PM seat
This role requires ownership, speed, and accountability.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5+ years in commercial or industrial electrical estimating and/or PM
- Strong understanding of:
- T&M work
- Short-cycle projects
- Long term projects
- Labor productivity
- Job cost control
- Electrical field background strongly preferred
- Comfortable managing many small and large jobs at once
- Proficiency with estimating and PM tools (Accubid, Intelli bid, Procore, Excel, etc.)
- Strong communication with field and ownership
Preferred
- Electrical journeyman background
- Experience using Intelli bid for estimating
- Experience in a small-to-mid-size electrical contractor
- Familiarity with design-build or negotiated work
- Experience helping build systems from the ground up
