JOB SUMMARY:
Sets up, operates, or tends machines to applicable to the operation to the operation of the Thread Seal production line, including the blending, extrusion, slitting and packaging processes, to produce parts to meet production requirements and drawing specifications at maximum machine efficiency and according to safety guidelines, generating highest part quality and productivity standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
● Performs basic setup and operation of various machines.
● Safely operates machines in accordance with machine specifications.
● Regulates machining by setting and adjusting controls.
● Inspects product for defects using specialized measuring instruments as required.
● Performs preventative maintenance and cleaning to ensure maximum up-time.
● Selects and positions die sets or tools in proper position to meet product requirements.
● Identifies requirements and set machine controls.
● Measures blank or strip using measurement tape or dial caliper.
● Observes machine operation to detect misalignment or malfunction
● Reads blueprint, job traveler, and other instructions for such specifications as dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions.
● Adheres to all safety procedures and guidelines.
● Accurately documents time worked by clocking in and out of payroll time clock
● Adheres to ISO inspection processes
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Other duties as assigned
● May periodically assist in orienting and training lower level employees.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● None
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
● High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution required / Trade or Technical Certification desired
● years' experience preferred
● Ability to operate equipment and make adjustments.
● Capacity to evaluate information to determine compliance with standards.
● Moderate ability to operate computers
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle and feel, as well as reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
