About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Product Data Science to join our dynamic team. This leadership role involves overseeing a team of Business Intelligence Analysts, guiding data-driven decision-making processes, and developing robust data infrastructure to support Waymo's strategic objectives. As a key member of the Product Data Science team, you will collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams to leverage data insights for enhancing driving quality, operational efficiency, market analysis, and rider satisfaction. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining data pipelines, dashboards, and analytical models that inform critical business decisions. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams. You will serve as a subject matter expert, driving best practices in business intelligence and data analytics, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within your team.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in SQL and strong coding skills
- Minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience in data science, analytics, or related fields
- At least 2+ years of proven experience managing or leading teams
- Exceptional ability to communicate complex data insights through storytelling and visualization
- Experience in stakeholder management and strategic influence
- Strong understanding of data infrastructure, pipelines, and dashboard development
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic projects and roadmaps
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Business Intelligence Analysts, ensuring project delivery aligns with company goals
- Own the development and maintenance of scalable data pipelines, dashboards, and analytical models for high-priority initiatives
- Act as a subject matter expert to develop and enhance the company's business intelligence infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements and innovations
- Establish project roadmaps, set long-term goals, and prioritize initiatives based on impact and strategic importance
- Influence decision-making processes through compelling data storytelling and visualization techniques
- Build and leverage a broad internal network to source new opportunities and foster collaboration
- Promote best practices in data analysis, visualization, and infrastructure within the team and across the organization
- Address technical and organizational challenges proactively, modeling the Waymo Way behaviors
