Schedule: Full-Time Day Shift (Typical hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM)

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and engaging Daytime Caregiver to support residents during daytime hours. This role requires hands-on caregiving, meal preparation, leading daily activities, and actively engaging with residents to promote emotional, physical, and social well-being.

The ideal candidate enjoys working closely with seniors, can multitask in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of creating a warm, interactive, and structured daily routine.

Key ResponsibilitiesResident Care & Engagement

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care, and mobility assistance.
• Encourage and support resident independence while ensuring safety and comfort.
• Fully engage with residents through conversation, companionship, redirection, and emotional support.
• Monitor residents for changes in physical or mental condition and report concerns promptly to the administrator or med tech.
• Accurately document care provided, observations, and incidents in daily logs.
• Follow individualized care plans in compliance with Title 22 RCFE regulations.

Activities & Programming

• Plan, lead, and participate in 1–2 structured activities daily, appropriate to residents' abilities and cognitive levels.
• Examples include: chair exercises, music therapy, arts & crafts, games, reminiscence activities, puzzles, and guided walks.
• Encourage resident participation and adapt activities to meet memory care or mobility needs.
• Promote social interaction and create a positive, stimulating daytime environment.
• Assist with special events, holidays, and family visits when applicable.

Meal Preparation & Nutrition

• Prepare and serve nutritious, balanced meals and snacks in accordance with resident dietary needs and physician orders.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards at all times.
• Assist residents during meals, including feeding assistance when required.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen, dining areas, and equipment after meals.
• Monitor residents' food and fluid intake and report concerns (e.g., poor appetite, choking risk).

Housekeeping & Facility Duties

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of resident rooms and common areas throughout the day.
• Perform light housekeeping duties including laundry, linen changes, dishwashing, trash removal, and restocking supplies.
• Ensure resident bathrooms and high-touch areas are sanitized regularly.
• Maintain a safe, odor-free, and welcoming environment.

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to Title 22 RCFE regulations and facility policies.
• Assist with medication reminders or medication administration support if trained and authorized.
• Follow proper infection control and PPE procedures.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow facility emergency protocols.
• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns immediately.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience: Minimum 6 months caregiving experience in an RCFE, assisted living, memory care, or home care setting (preferred).
• Certifications & Clearances:
• CPR & First Aid certification (required).
• Live Scan background clearance through CA Department of Social Services (required).
• TB test clearance and health screening (required).
• RCFE caregiver training or related certification (preferred).
