Highway Maintenance Worker

Buffalo County is seeking applicants for the Highway Maintenance Worker / Equipment Operator position. This position will report out of the Waumandee Shop location.

Summary of Duties

• Operates and maintains snow removal and ice control equipment
• Operates and maintains other equipment for road construction
• Removes debris and obstructions within roads, bridges, and right-of-way.
• Patrols designated routes to perform road maintenance
• Assists with road construction and projects

Minimum Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent with one (1) year experience in road maintenance, repair and/or construction using equipment similar to that used by the highway department.
• Wisconsin Class A Commercial Driver's License with N endorsement or obtain within six (6) months of hire.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening due to CDL requirements.

Hours

The Highway Department primarily operates on a 4-10 schedule working Monday through Thursday from 6AM to 4PM. At times, there will be the need to work hours outside of this schedule to perform road maintenance.

Pay

$23.31 to $24.64 per hour depending on experience.
