Assembly Supervisor

Supervises assembly team leaders on shifts assigned to ensure manufacturing goals are achieved. Coordinate other manufacturing departments. Supervises continuous improvement efforts. Implements engineering changes into manufacturing process.

Essential Functions:

• Supervises manufacturing team leaders to ensure production efficiency is maintained through production scheduling and troubleshooting problems.
• Supervises manufacturing team leaders to ensure quality standards are maintained through improvement programs, implementing countermeasures for all quality concerns, and assisting manufacturing engineers design work stations for maximum quality.
• Implements engineering changes into manufacturing process.
• Monitors safety and quality within the section including machines, equipment, and processes. Investigates problems and recommends solutions.
• Prepares reports and makes presentations on quality, scrap, direct labor and line status.
• Enforces company policies and procedures.
• Trains associates.
• Plans, organizes and allocates department resources to meet department and company goals.
• Promotes an associate relations environment that is consistent with long term management objectives.

Secondary Functions:

• Promotes participation in associate involvement programs and community events.
• Performs other duties as necessary.

Specialized Training, Skills, Abilities, Experience:

• High school degree or equivalent.
• 2 year associates degree in business administration or technical training is preferred
• 3-5 years previous line experience of which 1-2 years as a team leader is helpful.
• Knowledge of manufacturing environment required
• Knowledge of statistical process control

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

• Factory environment with noise from manufacturing environment.
• Possible exposure to spraying chemicals. Exposure to moving equipment, parts and electrical shock.
• Possible serious injury due to carelessness around equipment.
• Sometimes lifts, carries or moves objects - up to 50 pounds.
